RULES

1. ABOUT US

Golden Stars Dance Tour – Stelele Aurii Festival is a dance competition circuit dedicated to children and young dancers, with the aim of promoting dance, encouraging performance, and creating memorable experiences for all participants.

The festival brings together dance schools, sports clubs, choreographers, and dancers from Romania and abroad.

Golden Stars means more than just a competition: dance, friendships, experiences, and a more confident generation.

2. DISCIPLINES

The following disciplines may be entered in the Golden Stars Dance Tour:

• Classical Ballet
• Pointe Ballet
• Neoclassical
• Contemporary
• Lyrical Dance
• Jazz
• Show Dance
• National Folk Dance
• International Folk Dance
• Stylized Ethno
• Thematic Dance
• MTV
• Street Dance
• Cheerleading
• Open
• Acro Dance
• Aerobic Gymnastics
• Rhythmic Gymnastics
• Skate Dance
• RISING STARS – beginners – for participants performing on stage for the first time; all participants receive 1st Place recognition regardless of the ranking obtained.

The Organizer reserves the right to introduce, remove, merge, or regroup certain disciplines depending on the number of entries.

3. AGE CATEGORIES

Participants will compete in the following age categories:

• 4–6 years
• 7–9 years
• 10–12 years
• 13–15 years
• 16+

Age category placement is determined according to the participants’ ages and the rules of the registration system.

For Groups and Formations, the age category is determined based on the average age of the participants. The average age is rounded up when the decimal is x.5 or higher and rounded down when it is below x.5.

4. LEVELS

• AMATEUR

Dancers who practice dance, ballet, or gymnastics for a maximum of 4 hours per week.

• PROFESSIONAL

Dancers who practice dance, ballet, or gymnastics for more than 4 hours per week.

The Organizer reserves the right to verify the level entered and, if necessary, to request that a competitor’s level be changed.

5. SECTIONS

The competition is divided into the following sections:

• Solo – 1 dancer
• Duo / Trio / Quartet – 2–4 dancers
• Group – 5–12 dancers
• Formation – minimum 13 dancers

6. PERFORMANCE DURATION

The maximum recommended/allowed duration is:

• Solo: maximum 2:30 minutes
• Duo / Trio / Quartet: maximum 3:00 minutes
• Group: maximum 3:30 minutes
• Formation: maximum 4:00 minutes

Exceeding the maximum time may result in a penalty or in the music being stopped by the organizers.

7. JUDGING

All performances will be evaluated by a panel of judges made up of specialists in dance, choreography, and/or gymnastics.

The evaluation will take into account the following criteria:

TECHNIQUE AND EXECUTION

Technical level, difficulty of the elements, body control, precision, synchronization, fluidity, and overall quality of execution.

CHOREOGRAPHY AND ARTISTIC CONTENT

Structure of the performance, choreographic content, originality, musicality, and the way the elements are integrated into the overall artistic presentation.

STAGE PRESENCE AND IMPACT

Expressiveness, energy, interpretation, costumes, the competitors’ ability to convey emotion, and the overall impression of the performance.

The judges’ decisions are final.

8. RANKINGS AND AWARDS

Depending on the category, discipline, and level, participants may receive:

• diplomas;
• medals;
• trophies;
• special awards;
• vouchers;
• qualification for the event GALA;
• prizes offered by Golden Stars partners.

The organizers and members of the jury may also award special distinctions such as:

• Best Choreography
• Best Technique
• Best Performance
• Best Costume
• Best Concept
• Judges’ Choice
• Golden Stars Special Award
• GALA AWARD

Awards may vary from one event to another.

9. GALA SHOW – SELECTED TOP PERFORMANCES

At every Golden Stars Dance Tour event, the GALA SHOW will take place at the end of the competition day.

The jury will select some of the best artistic performances presented during the competition, which will be invited to perform again in the final show of the day.

Selection for the Gala Show

Selection for the Gala Show is not based exclusively on the ranking or score obtained in the competition.

The jury may select performances from any:

• age category;
• discipline;
• level;
• section: Solo, Duo/Trio/Quartet, Group, or Formation.

The following criteria may be considered during the selection process:

• technical level;
• quality of execution;
• originality of the choreography;
• difficulty;
• stage presence;
• expressiveness;
• artistic concept;
• musicality;
• impact on the audience;
• spectacular nature of the performance;
• overall impression on the jury.

A performance that places 1st in its category is not automatically selected for the Gala Show.

Likewise, a performance that did not place 1st may be selected for the Gala if the jury considers it to have outstanding artistic and stage impact.

Selection for the Gala Show represents a distinction separate from the competition ranking.

10. PARTICIPATION IN THE GALA SHOW IS FREE OF CHARGE

No additional participation fee is required for the Gala Show.

Performances selected by the jury are invited to participate in the final show free of charge.

Selected participants must be available for the Gala Show and must confirm their participation within the timeframe communicated by the organizers.

If a selected performance is unable to participate, the organizers and the jury reserve the right to select another performance.

11. GALA SHOW FORMAT

Selected performances will perform again on stage.

The performance order will be established by the organizers so that the Gala Show offers a dynamic and engaging experience.

The Organizer may change the performance order or the Gala schedule according to technical and artistic requirements.

Participation in the Gala Show represents one of the important distinctions of every Golden Stars Dance Tour event.

12. MUSIC

Music must be submitted/uploaded according to the instructions provided by the organizers.

Clubs, teachers, and coaches are responsible for ensuring that the audio file is correct.

We recommend that every teacher keep a backup copy of the music on a phone or USB device.

The music and artistic content must be appropriate for the participants’ age category and suitable for an event dedicated to children and families.

13. PROPS

Props are permitted provided that they:

can be placed on stage quickly;
can be removed immediately after the performance;
do not damage the stage;
do not present any danger to competitors, the audience, or technical staff.

Substances or materials that may soil or damage the stage are not permitted.

The following are prohibited:

open flames;
fireworks;
pyrotechnic materials;
flammable substances;
dangerous objects;
any item that may endanger the safety of participants.

14. COSTUMES AND ARTISTIC CONTENT

Costumes, choreography, music, and gestures must be appropriate for the age of the participants.

The organizers reserve the right to intervene in the case of content considered inappropriate for an event intended for children and families.

15. CONDUCT

Golden Stars promotes respect, fair play, and mutual support among participants.

Dancers, teachers, coaches, parents, and club representatives must behave respectfully toward:

competitors;
members of the jury;
organizers;
volunteers;
technical staff;
the audience.

Aggressive, offensive, or disrespectful behavior may result in a warning, disqualification from the competition, or restriction from future editions.

16. COMPETITION SCHEDULE

The final schedule will be prepared after the registration period has closed.

The organizers reserve the right to modify:

the schedule;
the order of categories;
competition times;
the structure of categories;
the composition of the jury;
the order of performances;
the time and schedule of the Gala Show,

whenever necessary for the smooth running of the event.

Participants are required to follow the official information communicated by the organizers.

17. RESPONSIBILITY

Each club, teacher, coach, or legal representative is responsible for the participants entered in the competition.

Participants must be physically fit to take part in the sports and artistic activities involved.

The Organizer is not responsible for:

transportation;
accommodation;
meals;
lost or damaged personal belongings;
accidents resulting from failure to comply with safety rules or the instructions of the organizers.

18. PHOTO AND VIDEO

Photographs and video materials may be recorded during the event by the Golden Stars team and authorized partners.

By registering for and participating in the competition, participants and/or their representatives agree that images recorded during the event may be used for the promotion of Golden Stars Dance Tour, including on:

YouTube
online promotional materials;
advertising materials;
printed materials.

For minor participants, responsibility for obtaining the necessary consent rests with the legal representatives and/or the club submitting the registration, in accordance with applicable legislation.

19. DATA PROTECTION

The data provided during the registration process will be used for the organization and administration of the competition, as well as for communicating the schedule, results, and other information related to the event.

Personal data will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

20. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES

By registering for the Golden Stars Dance Tour, the club, teacher, coach, participant and, in the case of minors, the legal representative declare that they have read, understood, and accepted these Rules.

The organizers reserve the right to supplement or amend the Rules whenever necessary for the proper organization and conduct of the competition.

Any changes will be communicated to participants and/or published on the official website.
